DISTRICT II,   TEXAS GARDEN CLUBS

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM AND

QUALIFICATIONS

District II of Texas Garden Clubs, Inc. gives annual scholarship(s) to students who permanently  reside in a County within District II. Applicants should be college-level freshmen or above. Undergraduate students must be enrolled for a minimum of 12 graded hours of classes. Graduate students must be enrolled for a minimum of 9 graded hours of classes.

The applicant must have at least a 3.25 GPA (on a 4 point scale) and have declared a major in a Horticulture field. Horticulture fields include floriculture, landscape design, horticulture, botany, biology, plant pathology, forestry, agronomy, environmental management, city floriculture planning, land management, and wildlife science.

The application deadline is April 30, 2018,  The scholarship is awarded for the following fall semester. Completed application with attachments must be received by the District II, Assistant Director of Scholarship on or before April 30th . A scholarship up to $1500 may be awarded and is paid directly to the student’s college.

  • Personal References
  • 2×3 Recent Photo of head and shoulders

Send documents by certified mail with return receipt request to District II, Assistant Director of Scholarships by April 30, 2018. The Assistant Director of Scholarship will notify all applicants in writing of the committee’s decisions immediately following the judging. The recipent(s) will be invited to be the guest of honor during the following convention or Board meeting.
